Required to perform the highest quality of welding on all types of products and materials using all types of automatic, semi-automatic or manual welding equipment. Must qualify on one welding process. Must qualify in flat, horizontal and vertical positions. Must qualify to all codes and quality requirements including customer work samples as required. Weld materials ranging from 8 mils to unlimited thickness, make any type and size weld on ferrous or non ferrous metals as required.
Working Procedures:
Work from drawings, weld procedure specifications (WPS) and UST&D standard operating procedures for welding. Required to understand American Welding Society (AWS) symbols.
Handle materials as needed by hand, crane, jib, forklift or other handling equipment.
Sets up welding equipment as required to comply with WPS used on the job. Required to set up and layout work better than the average knowledge of reading drawings.
Responsible for making an acceptable weld and required to provide a Level I visual examination and liquid penetrate examination as required to assure part fit-up and weld sizes meet drawings and other code requirements. makes repairs as required.
Makes necessary adjustments and performs routine maintenance necessary for proper care of equipment.
Record time and productions on proper forms.
Trains personnel as needed.
Marks pieces for identification as required.
Maintains safety precautions at all times.
Keep work area in clean and orderly conditions. Work from floor level, ladders or scaffold as required.
Hours will be shifts OT will be mandatory. It is an 24/7 operation. Weld test is required. Any cert.a plus. Company will work with candidates to receive certs.
