Unit Coordinator

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Recruiting to fill a Full-time Unit Coordinator Position. Coordinates Nursing functions and processes. Assist in providing documented employee supervision in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and / or the Program Director. Evaluates reviews and approves employee appraisals in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and / or the Program Director. Assists in developing and implementing Clinical programs and activities for the units. Provides effective communication among Clinical Staff regarding facility changes, updates, and policies / procedures. Interfaces with pharmacy regarding unit pharmacy issues. Evaluates daily current status of ;the unit with regard to Safety, Security, staffing, and programming. Audits unit restraints. Conducts unit and facility in-service training. Assists in orienting new unit employees, including monitoring orientation process. Serves as mentor to Staff. Provides, coordinates and delegates direct Nursing care, Planning, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions for designated shift. Ensures consistent use of the psychiatric Nursing process in providing quality care. Coordinates unit activities and serves as designated RN Supervisor. Assesses patients and documents pertinent patient information. Plans, monitors, and assesses patient treatment and intervenes psychotherapeutically. Requires graduation from an accredited Nursing program with licensure and registration by the Virginia Board of Nurse Examiners as a Registered Nurse. One year of prior adult, children, and/or adolescent psychiatric and chemical dependency experience required.
