Senior Electrical Engineer (Dallas Office)

JOB DESCRIPTION
The senior electrical engineer in the Dallas office will be handling forensic engineering work for insurance clients throughout the United States. The engineer will be expected to participate in jobs involving all types of electrical incidents including fires, electrical shock or electrocution, appliance and electronics equipment failures, lightning strike damage to electrical and electronics systems, failures of utility systems and equipment.
An ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience, a BA or MA in Electrical Engineering with a firm knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, experience in electrical design, or the utility industry, or an industrial plant background, and some familiarity with the NEC.

REQUIRED:
Education and Licenses
• Bachelors of Science degree in an engineering discipline with an Electrical major from an ABET-accredited university.
• Licensed (by examination) in the state to which the engineer is to be assigned.

Work Experience
• 5 years experience as an electrical engineer.
• Knowledge of building electrical power systems and/or utility electrical systems.

• Physically fit and capable of strenuous field work, sometimes at significant heights above ground, if required.
o Pass pre-employment physical exam.
o Pass pre-employment and future random drug testing.
• Resourceful; can accomplish multiple tasks; can handle multiple projects in a timely fashion.

 Communication Skills
• Must have good verbal communication skills, can speak effectively and explain things simply.
• Must have excellent writing skills, will be expected to write reports almost daily.

PREFERRED:
• Master of Science degree in an engineering discipline with an Electrical major from an ABET-accredited university.
• Licensed master electrician.
• Some knowledge of electronics and computer hardware.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code and other electrical codes and standards.
• Understand and use personal computers relative to Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)
