Patient Financial Counselor

Job Responsibilities:
Job Summary:The Patient Financial Counselor will be responsible for working with patients in advance ofscheduled services to collector arrange for resolution of the patient responsibility prior to the services being rendered.The goal of the Financial Counselor is to enhance customer satisfaction by eliminating financial concerns while meeting financial goals of the organization.This position will also assist patients withresolution of balances due from patients and other responsible parties, free care eligibility in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.Additional responsibilities include providing financial counseling in specific areas as needed as well as assisting with outstanding A/R projects as need and priority allows.

Job Requirements:
High School graduate. of three years relevant experience, including knowledge of insurance billing, medical terminology and basic collection laws.Knowledge of corporate credit and collection policies and procedures.Skills:Excellent skills with personal and mainframe computers and word processing.High level of interpersonal communication skills.Ability to deal with difficult customer situations.
